Doesn't the government see that the super high gas prices are driving the U.S. into a recession?

Todd
No, its not driving the U.S. into a recession. If the gas prices are so terrible here, move to Europe or even Canada, you'd like them much better there.

They don't care my friend.

And it is not just the "super high gas prices".

It is a combination of loss of middle class jobs (companies shutting their doors, bankruptcies, off shoring, downsizing, CEO salaries, rising costs-shrinking profits).

The 2005 bankruptcy reform act that mandatorily increased our minimum payments & let the credit card companies charge 35% interest

Increase of food costs due to American food suppliers selling our food to China/India and the BS corn gas ethanol scam (supply vs. demand)

Continuous increase in health insurance costs

And let us not forget the millions of new "user fees" that every state and congress keeps leveling on us, in essence hiding the increase of taxes we all have seen.

And, they don't care. They get their annual raises, they don't carry credit card debt, they do not have to save a dime for retirement and their healthcare is free (or nearly).

Then they walk down to their page's/secretary's office to ask about the average "American" (they aren't, unless the average is paid for life with free healthcare) and since they get annual raises, free healthcare and don't have to save for retirement, life is good for them too!

Until we stop bickering about BS like abortion, gay rights and demand the government stops the War on Drugs and starts paying their fair share of their own healtcare and pension costs, they will NEVER care.

Dark, dark times are coming. Start hoarding now while you can still afford to buy an extra gallon of water, or can of beans.

You don't have to buy gasoline anymore.

We now have vehicles that run with natural gas.

You can buy a Honda Civic GX right now and Uncle Sam will give you up to $5,000.00 if you buy one.

?
Yes, but with 900 other things of equal importance going on at the same time, gas prices are not top priority. Its important, but the unrest in the Middle East cant be solved right away just because we have high gas prices.
