Education versus experience, which do you feel has the most impact in the workforce?

It's a fact that educated individuals make significantly more income, in the same field/industry, than the non-educated.

Having a degree demonstrates a person's ability to establish goals and follow through with them.

Both have its own importance. While education is important to get one good career/job, experience is required to accelerate your career

It completely depends on the individual. The only real reason to need your degree, besides the "way it looks," is if you were going to be in some profession, such as doctor, teacher, lawyer. Otherwise, you can get far without one if you work hard. I don't think there can be an absolute answer either way, it just depends on your personality, drive, and what kind of profession you are

well, book learning does have it's merits , to be sure. and all the money spent on an education is worth it. my only pet peeve is about individuals who go to get an education only to use it as a club and be a "know it all".

i sooooooooooo agree with the theory that an education is where you develop tools to help you learn and navigate through the real school.......life its self.

It depends on what that workforce does... A workforce in a hospital is based mostly in professional education for doctors, nurses, technicians, although their experience is important, their professional knowledge is much more important. A workforce in a taxi transportation company is based mainly on experience. An experienced driver will get you from one point to the other faster than another depending on his experience in the city (shortcuts, rush hours, parking places, etc.)

depends on what field of work you are talking about......some jobs people need to have more experience and others they need more education.....honestly i would think both would be major factors no matter what the job......you can never have to much of either one...
