Google vs BBC?
Which is more valuable as a company and how much would the BBC be worth if it were sold?

kbw
I'd go for Google any time!!! At least it isn't biased and controlled by a left wing government!!! As for the Labour broadcasting company?(BBC?) If it was sold I would expect a windfall as I have been FORCED to pay for this drivel all my life!!!!!!!!!!!!

kbw, "left wing government" ?????????? What on earth are you on about? This government hasn't nationalised anything or put taxes up for the incredibly wealthy. That would be a start in my book.

Sorry, I don't know the answer :(

Chris
I believe as of a few months ago Google is worth around $115 billion.

Based on the fact Sky bought 17.9% of ITV for £940 million it would suggest ITV is worth a little over 5 billion. I would expect the BBC to be worth more than this as they have 2 terrestrial stations, numerous radio stations, a very popular website and digital channels. However it would presumably lose license fee revenue if privatised and would have to compete for advertising.

So even if the BBC is worth double or treble what ITV is worth, Google would be worth far more than the BBC.

Dr. Ruth
google no doubt.

1. because today is a user-driven era, meaning that we contribute to the knowledge world and we choose what we want to read/hear. BBC is a broadcasting company with stakeholder's interests in mind, not to mention its political bias in the world stage. The next generation is moving away from being told what is happening.

2. because google is worldwide, and BBC is British. Which has more potential to be a world power in the information world??

ccx806
The BBC has a budget of £4 Billion per year and is the Largest Broadcasting Company in the World and Google sales are $65million so dont know

But the bought YouTube aswell

Phone the BBC on 08700 100 222
or send Google a letter or phone them.
