Polish off your resume and start looking for a new job. In the US, what these people are doing is illegal and with the attitude toward you that you've described - they are not going to help you and may end up hurting you financially and professionally in the long run.
Start applying for new jobs, brush up on your job hunting skills and find work with a good, reputable company. You will not win in the situation you're in now & if you stay you will only be dragged down to their level. If you're smart enough to ask this question, you're smart enough to find a better job. |

Sorry, time to get a new job, they are going to take you to the six month minus one day (where they are required by law to acknowledge you as a regular employee) then let you go and get another....this is becoming more and more common among companies.
You might also call social security and tell them the situation as they are required to contribute to your social security on a one to one basis...and you are getting ripped off by them not doing this, it will reduce the amount that you will be awarded at retirement, not to mention that it's highly illegal. The only exception being if they are paying you cash on a DAILY basis...then you are considered day labor and not subject to SS by them, But you are required in that situation to send in SS payments yourself. |

Depend on how much cash your getting exactly in my opinion. for enough cash under the table I can buy my own insurance... It's up to you though. |

The first response was correct - Polish up the old resume .. and dont look for this place to give you a reference. You want out fast go through a Professional Temp. Service... They sometimes offer insurance if you stay long enough and will make deposit in your checking account so you dont have to travel to pick up a check everyweek.
Good Luck in your endeavors, if you dont look out for you no one else will. |

First answer sounds good to me. Another thing; this company may not even give you a job reference. So, it a no win situation for you. Try to find another job soon, even if, you have to go to the Employment Office. Just get something that can give you a real work history. |

I agree with Bionic... right now they know they can pay you what they are paying you, and you'll take it. You can report them to the IRS for not paying into Social security /FICA on you, but that won't create the happy work environment you are looking for. |

Call the IRS. They pay you cash to avoid paying taxes (FICA, FIT, SIT, FUTA & SUTA). The IRS will handle it. In the meantime, put in applications elsewhere. Who wants to work for an unethical company anyway? |
