My mom is taking me shopping for back to school clothes and stuff, and I told her let's go to target, and she told me "I don't like shopping for clothes there, nothing is ever on sale, let's just go to Wal-mart or something instead,". So how do I convince her to take me to target? And if there are any sales there for clothes for girls, can you please post it. And which do you prefer, Target, or Wal-mart? |

I just bought a top for school at Target yesterday. As far as stores go, WalMart has more as far as random stuff goes, but Target has much more fashion-forward clothes for teens. I prefer the overall atmosphere of Target more.
Tell your mom that most of the clothes at Target will probably last longer than the ones at WalMart...higher quality. Also, most of the clothes there are under twenty dollars. Target also has a great shoe selection, unlike Walmart, so tell mom that you can get it all in one place!! |

walmart is always the cheapest choice. target has nice choices at pretty low prices considering its quality. id go to target anyday before walmart. |

Perhaps you could compromise with your mom? Overall, Target is a much better choice for clothing that is in style and will hold up. However, there are some things I don't mind buying at Wal-mart. Perhaps you could suggest shoping for essentials like underwear and socks at Wal-mart. I've also found that the cheap tanktops hold up pretty well and you can get a lot of them for little money.
I agree with the person who said to use the argument that spending money are Target is a better decision. Clothes from Wal-mart are very cheaply made and will need to be replaced a lot sooner than Target's clothes. So while she may be spending a bit more money (though I'm sure there are many back to school sales at the moment) she's actually saving money in the long run.

TARGET IS NEATER BUT WAL-MART IS SERIOUSLY CHEAPER. THEIR SHIRTS RANGE FROM 7 TO 5 DOLLARS EACH. WALMART IS MY FAVORITE IN FACT I AM GOING THERE FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES. |

Target has quality products, Walmart does not. Target also has more hip styles while Walmart looks at something they can buy at the lowest possible cost and sell in mass. If you want to stand out, Target is where you should go.
If you are into patronizing stores that treat their employees well, are good for local communities, and are good corporate sponsors, then it is hands down, Target. Walmart is famous for not paying their employees well, not paying for employee health care and other benefits, have been known for running smaller shops and companies out of business, try to influence local governments to return sales and property tax money to them, and they do not tend to sponsor any national charities Target does all of this and more. |
