HOw do I prepare for an impending layoff?
so far several people have been layed off and i guess the rumor is that our department is next to be cleaned out...Coincidentally my boss is flying in this Thursday.
get your resume together and start looking for a new job.
I saw some people said to tell your friends and ask about leads. DON'T tell anyone you work with. there is still a chance you might not get layed off (unless you work at wamu) and you don't want people to think you were going to jump ship and then decide maybe it would be best to let you go.
good luck

Uh, you need to get off of YA and start beefing up your resume. Start sending out emails to all of your friends/colleagues informing them that you are looking for a new job and ask them to forward any potential leads. Say a prayer that God will take care of you. Start saving your money.

Get your resume in order, start making contact calls to see if there are any jobs out there, consider what kind of package you think you can negotiate with the company you are currently with (will they pay for insurance? do they offer job hunting assistance?), contact your local unemployment office to find out what the process is for applying for unemployment.
Most of all, do not panic.
No affence
start to ask your self do I need it or do I want it. look in the phone book see where their are places to get help. ask the elc.&gas company if their is away that you can get help for people who are getting layed off. you have to ask or know one will tell you. hope the best.
