Why, those dirty rotten SOBs! I stupidly signed up for this webmeetingviacre.com deal, thinking I was getting an opportunity for a job. I read on here about them, called my credit card company and, fortunately, I purposely gave them a credit card that didn't have much money available on it. The CC company said they tried a charge of $1, which, for whatever reason, didn't go through. They would have charged me to the hilt if they could have, but I only had a couple hundred bux left on the card. I'm surprised they didn't take what they could and run! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I had to put an administrative hold on my card to stop them from trying again.
A young neighbor man told me (and it makes sense) that the URL should have been secure; in other words, it was http:// and should have been HTTPS:// (s for secure). RUN, RUN, RUN!!

They advertised it in Atlanta as well. I received instructions on how to proceed, but when I asked if I could have information on the company and its background before proceeding, that was it! No more communication at all! It was not legitimate. |

It appears to be a new WAH scam. They reply to everyone that applies. They tell them that they are one of the chosen few being considered for the job. They give you a description of a job a trained monkey could do and tell you it pays $16.25 an hour! All you need to do is complete a few documents, take a competency test and attend a "webinar" that is supposedly like a mass interview for all of the finalists. That's where the scam comes in. You have to sign up with webmeeting.viacre.com, which is own by........VIACRE! You MUST enter your credit card number to get the 14 day "free" trial. From what I've heard, EVERYONE that has ended up signing up for the free trial has been billed $468 for the one year membership. Most have yet to get the charges reversed. One big clue is on the "webinar" site itself. They have the verisign secured logo on the bottom of there page. However, it is nothing but a dead graphic. With REAL verisign secured sites, the logo links to verisign so that you can verify the sites authenticity. Hope this helps. |
