I recently got an email from a company called freelotto.com stating that I have won 2,900,000 GBP. That's over $5 million US dollars!!! This company is located in the UK. They have told me that a courier service will deliver the certified check to me. The problem is that I have to pay the service about a total of $950 US dollars to deliver the check. If I have really won this money then why can't they send me the certified check by mail or wire it into my bank account? Has this happened to any of you? It sounds like a scam, but what if it isn't? What can I do to find out if I am being scammed? |

Sorry to here you are such a small winner. I have won about £100000000 up to now. These are all scams, don't send any money, that is their bread and butter. Sorry to disappoint you but if you don't play the game, you don't win. If you actually live in England collect all the information you can from what you have received and give it to your local police. It is a crime. |

Yes, I have got that before and I can assure you it's a scam. Find out for yourself if you don't want to take my word for it. I started to email them and just to check and then they were asking for money to ship my winnings to me. It is a scam, I gaurantee you . |

It's a scam. Whatever you do, don't respond. And for God's sake, don't give them your bank information. I've seen quite a few of these online, and I would hate to see anyone fooled by them. If it were a true contest, or whatever, do you remember entering it? And real contests do not require you to send money, especially as much as that. If you have doubts, go to the Better Business Bureau and ask them.....but trust me when I say it's a scam. |

Yes. It is a scam. I did a google search for the company that contacted me and found that it is a part of a large scam using different names and countries. A safe bet is if you didn't sign up for a lottery, then you didn't win it. |
