YES! And there were a few others that were as well . We were bidding on laptops. They were advertised as a laptop but when I got it in the mail it was without the hard drive , battery cd, and modem. All removeable media and parts were missing leaving just the shell. I reported the person to ebay and they were suspended but I never got Ebay to refund my money or to refund the shipping due to the way the seller had worded the add. You have to be VERY VERY careful and ASK the seller questions about the item before bidding on it. Even if the questions sounds dumb or redundant ASK ASK ASK!!! |

I haven't been scammed before. I knew someone who sent out money to buy something, the seller said he didn't send the money and he never got the item or the money again.
The best thing to do is too not use money orders (if you do track it, so it won't disapear!) and use paypal. And make sure you have the people your buying the items form give you the tracking number so you know for sure its on its way. And if there is a problem and you don't get the item within 60 days, you should report to ebay right away or you won't get much help from them.

I have been scammed BIG time. I listed a motorcycle on ebay and has someone ask a question through "Ask The Seller", I responded to the question through ebay and found myself having to sign in again. I did that not really thinking anything of it and found out later that the sign in page (even though it looked legit) was a fake and the person who asked me the question intercepted my account info (including my password) and bid on several of the items he had listed. Ebay caught it, but not before this idiot reaked havoc with my account and I eventually had to close it. |

Yes, not once but twice I bought a DVD from a seller but what he failed to tell it was a beta disc, and the other time I bought a Old School CD and stated original not copy, but when I received it was a CD but is was a copy. I did complain but he say I was wrong but I said I wasn’t wrong because it was a Memorex disk, and the case was a sleeve. But he was it was still the original what a jerk. |

If you mean you sent the money and never received the item or it wasn't what you expected... I'd contact EBay! If they do nothing, the next thing to do which screws up the sellers reputation is comment on site selling site - They don't like being called a cheat, and it alerts others of there scams.
If you're saying you hit the BUY button by accident, as I did when I first went to the site, and tried to tell the seller and eBay that I made a mistake and did not want the item, yet was insisted that I pay for it -
Well I did not pay for nor did I receive it, which of course I didn't want anyway.
The seller was a jerk - eBay did not back me... so I'm done with them! |

I don't know how you define scam, but I had a seller advertise a DVD with the drawing used by Disney to promote it; the characters from the movie. When I received a BAD knock-off and complained, the seller pointed out the words "stock photo" captioned under the drawing in his E-Bay ad and claimed this cleared him of any wrongdoing. Then the creep left ME negative buyer feedback and promptly changed his store name. I did not take this incident to E-Bay. ( fool! ) |
