Has anyone had problems with Royal Mail?
I posted a parcel about 10-11 months ago using Royal Mail.

I can't remember if I used special delivery or normal recorded now because it was that long ago.

Anyway the parcel supposedly never arrived at its destination and after all this time I havent got the postage receipt anymore.

I was hoping that Royal Mail would have kept records but they are trying to say that I never sent the parcel because they havent got any records of it.

Has anyone else out there had any problems with Royal Mail similar to me?

Sensible answers only please guys this is quite serious

Thankyou

If you sent it recorded or special then you should have kept the receipt. Royal Mail can't be expected to keep track of each and every one of the millions+ parcels and letters sent in the UK every year.
What number are they supposed to use to try to trace it? Make one up?
I don't think so.
I'm one of Royal Mail's fiercest critics (I am on first name terms with Adam Crozier now) but even I don't think RM can help you here.

now lets see

special is guarenteed next day delivery

sorry, after 10-11 months you aint got a leg to stand on.

and as for recorded, it isnt worth the extra because it just menas they get a signature, they are however perfectly at liberty to treat it as normal post in all other respects. and they lose letters with more reglarity then you would think.

Well, as you lost your proof of posting AND waited far too long to follow up you really have no recourse. Why did you wait so long? Not to deliberately sound overly harsh, but what were you thinking??

Mark W
Yes I've had tons of problems with royal mail. Unless you have the proof of posting you don't stand much of a chance. With recorded delivery they claim that it's only recorded as posted and then as delivered and cannot be tracked, the rest of the time it's with the rest of the post. Special delivery is a lot safer as they monitor it the whole way.

Unless you've got the proof of posting and the item had a value, the best you'll get from them is a book of stamps. However, you can try postwatch who will take up your complaint for you. Royal Mail still aren't great at responding but at least someone else is doing the chasing instead of you. Call them on 08456 013265 or go to www.postwatch.co.uk

Everyone has had problems. I too have lost parcels. I have also failed to receive parcels that RM or Parcelforce have said I've signed for.
You've left it too long to complain this time. Next time use track and trace, it's easier to chase up.

Just in the last week, I sent a £10 M&S voucher in a Christmas card to a friend. All it had to do was go down the road, & someone along the way must've decided to feel the envelope, rip out the contents & have it for themselves.

Not quite on the same scale as the Cartier watch, but still money lost all the same.

I have continuousely complained about recieving loads of post meant for other people and nobody has bothered to answer any of my complaints. I am sure my address is being used to dump mail, but even the local post office is not interested. What do I do?
