Retail Grocers Inventory Service. I can't comment on their current operations but I knew some people who worked for them some years back. It tends to be rather tedious work (imagine spending the entire day counting canned goods). The workers were required to travel a lot and, because they were under contract as "independent contractors", they were required to pay for their own transportation, lodging, meals, etc. Although the pay was good, most workers did not come out all that much ahead after paying their own business expenses. The company has always had, to my knowledge, a rather high turnover in employees. |

RGIS is an inventory counting company. They come into a retail organization and do their annual or bi-annual inventroy counts. They are used by Circiut City, Best Buy amd other places.
Their quality of work is questionable. Some people love them, some hate them. As a former employee of Circuit City, I did not like their service. They miscounted the computer inventory in my store and I was forced to carry a false inventory shortage of $8,700 from the very begining of the year. Try having to explain that your your district manager. Not a pleasant experience. |

RGIS...man..i swear to god they have crackheads scanning all of your skus for you...I hated them..they had very unprofessional people who were working for them...but then again...who else can you find to scan sku's all day and all night...they were very inaccurate and that is what their service is suppose to about accurate and precision. i had a few RGIS employees who would try to flirt w/my employees and had the nerve to eat the pizzas that i bought for my employees for staying later than usual to conduct the inventory count w/me. |

Don't know what the RG stands for but the IS is for inventory service. My college roommate worked for them. He mostly worked late afternoon or night. He went mostly to dept. stores where they would count individual items and leave a tag with the count. Someone would collect these so the store could get a count of their total inventory by item and $ amount.
The pay was above average and most of the workers were part time. He seemed to not have a problem with any of it. |

Many grocery stores hire them to do inventory a couple of times a year. I think they do a couple of other things too. |

Hey, I have an interview with them Monday. I just know that they're an inventory company and that you'll sort of be like an independent contractor working for them. You'll be on call for whenever they need you and you'll go to different locations at different times. |
