Primerica Financial Services is a subsidiary of Citi. They market term life insurance, home loans, debt consolidation loans, mutual funds, retirement plans, college plans, prepaid legal service, auto & homeowner insurance, and long term care.
As with any other company, the company has to get licenses and approvals from the state and federal government to market investments. Independent agents are required to take the federal exam and pass it before they can talk about or solicit anything in regards to investments. Primerica is a regulated industry, so its definitely a legit company.
I personally open my Roth IRA there and I max it out every month. My agent asked me some questions to analyze my risk and from there, he recommended me what mutual funds I should invest in. My portfolio been averaging out around 13% since I first started investing. I think that's a pretty good return. |

I live with a Primerica employee. It is not a scam but it is a business where you pay yourself. u don't have a salary. It is the financial advisors department of Citigroup (like Ameriprise is for American Express). So as a financial advisors, u teach peole 2 invest in Citigroup by buying securities, insurance, morttgages, etc. Everytime someone buys a product from Citigroup, u get paid by them.
If u r in the financial world and u want 2b a real FA, consider Edward Jones. They do almost the same but they start u with a salary so u wont be totally on your own. Either way, it is not as easy as u may think. But if u really want 2b in that line of activity, yeah it will pay u in the loooooonnnnng run. U will end up on Wall st with Morgan Stanley. |

Loan Fraud Alert
A loan fraud operation is in effect across the country that is, in some cases, fraudulently using the Primerica name to mislead consumers into wiring money to a designated address. Primerica is one of several companies being fraudulently used in this scam.
The scam works as follows: a series of advertisements printed in local newspapers falsely offer personal loans; debt consolidation loans and other loan related services by misrepresenting that Primerica is offering the loans.
Other ads may read "LOANS" or "Previous Bad Credit? No Problem!" and list only a 1-888 number. When potential victims call the number, they are generally directed by a recorded message to leave their name and telephone number and advised that a representative will contact them shortly.
Typically, the loan application is taken over the phone and approved quickly. The victim is asked to wire a sum of money to supposedly purchase an "insurance policy" to repay the loan "in the event of default." The money is wired via Western Union to an individual (Primerica's name is never listed on the Western Union wire) in Toronto, Canada. The 1-888 number is operational for only about 30 days.
Primerica representatives never take money for loan applications and all loan transactions require a face-to-face meeting with a Primerica representative. If you believe you have been victimized by this advance fee loan scam, please contact Steve Benton with Citigroup Security and Investigate Services at (770) 564-6121. You may contact the Task Force investigating this matter by calling PhoneBusters at 1-888-495-8501 or sending e-mail to "info@phonebusters.com."
