Has anyone here woked at a McDonalds? What do you think of the experience?

Additional Details
I worked for McDonalds from the age of 16-19 and I had a mixed experience. I had fun with the people that I worked with but on the flip side the people I worked for and the company on a whole SUCKED!!! I would never recomend the job for anyone. I agree that I learnt good work ethic and developed usefull skills such as making burgers lol. I could recomend much better jobs to young people looking for work. The only thing working for McDonalds that is really benaficial is the name... you get recognition for that at least... Anyway I hate McDoanlds and most fast food. The "food" if thats what you want to call it sucks and i dont even think a rat would eat it. Any good stories???
http://www.mwr.org.uk/alternative.htm this if funny as hell!!! lol

i worked for Mcdonalds for 9 years. I started out as a crew member, took over as playplace manager about a year and a half later. I then became a swing manager ( glorified crew person) about a year after that i became an assistant. They paid to put me through a lot of valuable training as far as management went, but they worked me very long and hard hours. i was really good at it, but i just came to a point where i burnt out. it was the best thing i could have ever done. I now work for Braum's ice cream and dairy. I have better benefits, higher pay, better hours and an easier job. Oh and did i mention that the company actually cares about its employees... I will never go back to work for Mcdonalds, but i wont ever say that i regret working there either, because without it, i wouldn't be who i am today or where i am at in life today.

I worked at Popeye's I was really glad that it was only a summer that I worked there. Working in a restaurant teaches working in a fast pace, working hard and may help develop people skills.
However after a while it becomes pretty monotonous. If it is your only option, it is better than being unemployed. However I would keep looking for something that was a little closer to what I wanted to do for a career.

I have worked at a McDonalds before. On one hand alot of the people i worked w/were cool we would have fun, but it seemed like a big old soap opera there, everyone knew everyone's buisness.
I can tell you stories lol. Some customers think that just b/c you work there you are stupid,& they are always right & alot try to get free food.
People think that it is the easiest job ever, but its harder than people think. It can be very stressful at times. One customer can be a jerk & hold up your line than people get mad at you like its your fault. I think sometimes we were understaffed. some of the crew would not show up quit w/out notice. Alot of people couldnt handle it.
examples of bad experiences that i have had. I worked there I was about 5 mons pregnant a customer ordered a strawberry shake so i made it 4 her than she bitched that it was supoosed 2 b choc. so i apologized made choc. than she scremed at me that it was supposed 2 b strawberry & i still apologized even though she was callin me every name in book. She was so rude i asked her to leave.
another example: We were really busy this girl handed out the order the guy sqeezed the top of his soda that the top came off & so he threw it at her & swore so i kicked him out.
When i worked there we are required 2 give reciepts some guy came in saying he was missing half his order through D.T. so i asked him if he had reciept he said he was never given one. So i looked up his order on the comp. we had absolutly no order close to what he said so he called me a ***** cuz i wouldnt give him free food. needless to say he was walking hmmm. but he went through D.T?
the resturant i worked at food was made to order not ahead so the food was fresh.
The one thing i noticed is if you keep complaining about the food than why do u keep going there. Some people you just cant please. No body is perfect & some people find a reason to complain about anything they can find wrong w/their food to get it free.
O another ex. this guy said i asked 4 no onions on his bigmac im highly allergic you always put onions on it when i say no onions well didnt he feel stupid when he was told there's more onions in that mac sauce than we put on your burger. I am very patient now when i go to any resturant, people complain bout prices well go to a real resturant see how their prices are & some complain that they get charged for a side mayo well nothings 4 free & if u go 2 a resturant u will get charged there 2.
so please if anyone goes to any resturant dont give them such a hard time, you are just making the situation worse by screaming & u expect them to be nice? they dont deserve it.
Oh & no body spits on ur burgers like some people say we owned 7 mcd's & i worked at them all. plus alot mcd's have hidden cameras now.
