Once a UPS truck drove up outside my home, I saw it through the window, I got up, looked out the window, the driver walked up to my fence and reached over and dropped the package into my yard, and left. I couldn't believe it, I called UPS and complained, all they said was, "It wasn't fragile", I will never do business with either of those companies again! And anyone I order a product from, I make sure they don't either, I recommend you dont!!!

Barrabas, that's exactly what I do, I use the USPS, It's cheaper, it takes a little longer, but I know I will get it!
I live where there are people going by your home constantly, UPS, FedEx, will drop it on your steps without knocking, or you even being home, results, no package! Just my experience! |

Yes, A couple of times, the UPS guy delivered my package to the next door neighbor. And then delivered their package to me. I was thinking how could that be hard to mix up. The address is on the package. If he would take his time to LOOK at the package address, he would get the house right. Then it was the DHL guy from that company. He did the same thing, only this time he delivered my package to a address that was far away. I was tracking my package online, and it said it was delievered. So I goes down stairs to see if he put it in the door, and their was no package. I called the company and the women said that the delivery man accidently delivered my package to another address somewhere else. I was worried at that point. Because I was thinking that somebody might open my package or something. But that would be against the law to open somebodys package. But people are people so it could have still happen. So he had to go all the way to the other address, get my package and bring it to me. I mean good grief. If they would pay attention and look at the address they would get it right. |

I have never had any kind of problem with UPS. I have had at least a few problems with FedEx. I do tons of Internet shopping and when given the choice I pick UPS as the courier. It's not uncommon to have them making 2-3 deliveries at my house in a week, all of them complete, on time and not broken. If given a choice between FedEx and anything else, however, I will generally pick the "anything else."
If you really "will never do business with either of those companies again" you're in some serious trouble. What are you going to use, a local rickshaw delivery service? You're not going to use US Mail, i hope; USPS is a worse alternative to either of those companies. |

I have a few gripes with the responses here. First for the question. Was the fence locked?? I don't walk through closed gates either, the fence is there for a reason. I agree it shouldn't have been dropped though. Second the whole thing about a decent increase and going 110%....huh?!? UPS drivers are paid hourly and their delivery performance doesn't affect their wage increases, like FedEx Ground. |

I live in a big apartment complex and the FedEx driver will leave all of the packages at the office without even attempting to deliver them to the individual apartments. I was home all day once, waiting on a package. The driver never bothered to come to my door. He simply dumped all the packages at the office to save himself time. I had absolutely no idea that it had been delivered. |

If you don't want the driver to do a "ring and run" then have the item shipped signature required, then you have to make sure someone is there to sign for the package or you will have to go to the depot and pick up the package.
Unfortunately these drivers really have no choice but to ring and run. The system is set up in such a way that the driver has to do 110% (literally) in order to receive a decent increase. So if 100 packages a day is 100%, they have about 120 on the truck to attempt delivery on.
I have had FedEx ground leave packages at the bottom of my driveway! Luckily my hubby was home, who works for FedEx Express and had a little "chat" with the driver since the package he left was a digital camera and ALL the drivers have been told to drive up and drop at the door! |

I hate to say it, because I can't stand UPS but you don't have a whole lot of options. UPS screws up my deliveries everytime in fact. I expect it 5 days from when it was shipped and it normally takes 7. Fedex on the other hand I think it excellent. They shipped me a computer I had ordered from China in 3 days. |
