There is a major shift in the telecom industry. With the advent of IP telephony old markets will get squeezed out, wired phones will become dinosaurs. The domestic call centers are getting outsourced.
What is it like to be threatened with your job on a daily basis, depressing. To watch the people from India fill my building is depressing.
I would say my customer has not suffered, they are still my livelyhood, I give them the best service so they will remember what good service was like. The company has been affected by my attitude. I no longer feel part of the process, not even a cog in the wheel. I am not being listened to, and why would management care? |

Yes, I have worked in depressing places and for depressing people. Sounds like a poorly run business. If it depresses you then look for another place to work.
Try finding one thing you like about your job. Build on it. Make sure you don't add to the problem. Smile, work hard and try to change your atmosphere...

Yes I did volunteered in a nursing home helping the recreation director.Some of those people are really sad.There was one little lady that cried all the time to go home.She wanted her baby said her husband needed supper.But she had lost her whole in a accident.Her mind was just stuck in that time.It was sad really because a couple of the other old people picked on her and yelled shut up your babies are dead.I had to stop helping there it would make you want to cry. |

Yes! Its terrible! The new owner took away our christmas tree! Everybody in the mall had christmas decorations, and we had none.
The owner dident care about us at all, he dident care about what we did, if we did a good job, or if we we safe. Nobody smiled, nobody cared. Nobody even cared if I was late. |
