How Do I go about finding out if a HSBC CORPORATE CARD is for real are not hear is the card # 4000001234567890

On 2-27-2007the Central Bank of Nigeria in accoddance with Hsbc Bank London was to of uploaded a part Payment to my Atm Debit Card which was to be delivered to me I was to send $750.00 to a EMEZUOM PETER DAMIAN AT LAGOS_NIGERIA to recive my card I would like to kmow if this card is for real are is this a Scam Thank You James at oilhand65@yahoo.com

I think that was a scam, but I think this will make up for it.

I've been trying for some time to move some valuable artwork to the U.S. from my store here in London. Once it's there, I have a trusted associate who has already lined up some buyers. The problem is that the shipping is very expensive because the paintings are very large. You've probably heard of some of the artists - Monnet, Pickaso, Rimbrant - it's the real deal. Anyway, if I could find someone to help cover the shipping costs, I'd be willing to share 25% of the proceeds once they are sold in the U.S. ...that could be huge - possibly over $100 million, even.
The shipping costs that I need help with are about $10,000. My associate in the U.S. will pick up the cash from you at your convenience. Just let me know.

EDIT: Thumbs down? Honestly? That was funny. FYI, it's just a rehash of various spam I've received. The 'art dealer in london' bit is pretty common.

This is a 100% scam. Never ever deal with any Nigerians. They're top cheaters in the world. Why do you need to send money to receive your card? Cards are issued free from bank based on your credit score. However, should you get confirmation that the card is legitimate. That still does not guarantee that they will mail to you after receiving your money. Best to keep your money in your pocket/bank. Speak to the bank if you need a card. You don't need a 3rd party.

I have got countless emails such as this and they are all variations of an age old scam! There is no HSBC corporate card and if you send any info, your I.D., or money to these clowns it will be gone forever and you won't recieve any benefit. While some people might only copy and paste such email to their answer with a brief take on it, I will go into detail because I'm tired of this trash, as several of my friends have lost their a$$es to this scam. This is about as far away from legitimate as anything can get, whether it be a contest, promotion, or whatever.

There exists a certain form of immoral degenerate that trolls the internet searching for suckers who believe that they have gotten very lucky and won a lottery which they have never entered. They will probably entice you to send an advance fee to claim your non-existant winnings and if you do send this money, you can kiss it goodbye. The money will likely be en-route to Nigeria, a cesspool of fraud that has been the center of these types of fraud over the last few decades.

The best thing to do is to delete such emails immediately and to never reply to them. If you even reply, you risk having your email inbox flooded. If you call these people, expect to be harrassed over the phone at all hours of the night! In some cases, people who travel to claim their winnings in Nigeria are taken hostage, and in worse-case scenarios are killed when whoever is paying ransom payments exhausts their money supply. If anything online sounds to good to be true it always is buddy.

By the way, I have kind of become an anti-scam activists due to the fact that I have many friends who have had their identities and life savings stolen from them via these methods.

This is simply advance fee fraud (a prevalent type of fraud which continously asks for money to cover unforseen expenses) and is intended to drain your bank account, promising money that simply does not exist. Hopefully, this answers your question.

Hi there, this is definitely a scam. I receive one of these emails at least 2 times a week. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY to them. Some banks offer information about fraud and what you can do about it. I have seen in my bank memos about these emails requesting you to send money. Just disregard them and also the ones saying things like they are trying to find a lost relative, there is money due to them. I have had that email sent to me on various occasions, the funny thing is I married into the family they were referring to, so I knew it was a scam. Good Luck, also when you receive these emails hit the spam button and they should start going into your bulk mail.
