of course if you raise taxes on business, you get less business being done. this is economics 101.
so making the corporations pay the taxes only reduces the amount of business they do -- and that costs jobs in the economy and reduces the value of everyone's retirement account.

similarly, making the rich pay all the taxes doesn't work.
What do the rich do with money they don't need today to live well? they invest it.
investing is what buys the tools and equipment employees use. tools and equipment multiply the efforts of the employees and thus increase output [value added] more than they cost. this increases profits and allows the employer to pay the employees more.
so when you raise taxes on the rich what happens is they reduce investing which reduces the availability of tools and equipment, which reduces labor productivity and therefore wages.

actually, corporations do not pay taxes at all -- they only serve as the government's collection agent for taxes. all of the taxes are actually paid by either customers, employees, or shareholders. |

I find that too many people look to others to solve their problems. I nearly doubled my income on not what extra I made but on what I could spend small amounts on every year on tax breaks. I moved my tax from 35% to now just 18%. that is because at my earning level they won't let me go to 0. Nor do I want to either I kind of like hot and cold running water and good roads to ride on and all the other stuff you get as "benefit" of taxes. |

Just what are you talking about??? While to so-called "rich" do get some breaks on their Federal income tax, they )and the corporations) pay the highest local and stae income taxes ( and real estate taxes) you could possibly imagine.
In may cases, the poor pay no taxes. |

Yes it's true that in the environment of laws that govern us here right now it seems that the middle class keep things going. We can not qualify for any sort of assistance, but yet we cannot afford even the simple programs that are offered by the community or state. the wealthy can afford to take advantage of programs since they afford it! the poor are qualified to the programs for free because they do not make enough or are milking the rest of us. What about Grnadholms bull about any company that creates jobs or decides to bring their company to MI.... she said that they will be absolutely tax free! Way to go...a state already facing trouble economically let's cut taxes for business so that we go broke and cut off any additional revenue period! The prices right now in MI for office space is attractive..what is she thinking? |
