If this is a serious and ongoing business that you have, ask him how he does his purchasing and if he's interested in looking at your avocados. If he isn't, ask him if he knows of any organization for restaurant managers in your area that you could approach. If he says not now, ask him if it's ok that you check back with him in a few months' time? Be friendly yet insistent, let him know that you are serious. Is there a chamber of commerce that you might be able to help you out?

restaurants have contracts to purchase their produce, etc.
this person cannot simply start buying your produce because it is not up to the manager alone, but is usually determined by the owner (and put in writing)
