I need to help change my work organisation. We need strong leadership and a positive attitude during a time of uncertainty. What things can I do to help drive this change and create a better working environment with stronger leaders and better managers? |

There is a big lack of information here.
If the leaders and mangers report to you it is your responsibilty to instigate the change you want from your managers or change your managers.
Everything has to be lead from the front, motivation, determination and strategy that everyone understands.
So it is up to you to motivate to strategise from the info and resources you have or call upon consultants. It is also your role to see that determination is fed down the line of operation. To do this you have to give people a goal to work to, a reason to do it.
If this is not your positon in the company you need to be putting your ideas forward to the people whose responsibility it is ( can be a dangerous game as people read into it things that are not intended) |

Depends on the size of organisation you are talking about and the importance of these changes. Maybe it's no more than a chat over coffee and danish can sort out. Otherwise, you might be well advised to call in professionals who specialise in this kind of thing, ie management consultants. The right firm will provide a small amount of expert advice, and hand-holding through the process, for a modest sum. Start by writing a one-page brief, and inviting 2-3 firms to submit proposals. Your national trade body for management consultants should be able to help you choose firms and advise on writing a brief. The experience of people who have seen this situation many times over is well worth tapping in to. |

I don't know what your position is in the organization, but it really doesn't matter. What you need to do is remain positive and when you have to criticize something always have a solution suggestion available. You will be more credible that way. If you just whine about things and never offer a solution then you appear to be a whiner and weak. Do your job at 110% all the time. Don't get involved in workplace gossip, keep your relations with people at work at work. Most of all be patient, changes like you are describing take time and don't happen over night. Don't get discouraged just keep being strong and positive. |
