I have made lots of $$$ from my special recipe at a lemonade stand 2 summers ago. I am 13 now, and I would like to sell to retail stores. On a different note, i have some computer software ideas that i would like to protect and sell.Ive been told that a coorperation has all of the legal rights as an adult. I would like to be able to open a bank account, sign contracts, etc. |

I really, REALLY admire your determination. This country could use a lot more youth like you.
Like the messages before this though, unless you are legally separated from your parents, you must have a guardian sign documents for you. At 13 and not legal age, you have no legal standing to sign anything.
And it likely would be too late to try to get it through the legal system in time to make a difference. Get your parents to sign legal documents for you.
And go for your dreams - as far as they take you!

I admire your determination, aspirations and ambitions, unfortunatley at 13 it may not be possible to enter into any contracts as you do not have the capacity to enter into any contract, unless you have a guardian or a lawyer acting on your behalf, hmmm signing of contracts would have to be done by an adult or guarding or lawyer and ensure all your software is registered with the patent office, any bank accounts involving business would have to be done in the oresence of a guarding acting on your behalf, the law does not recognise your age, with your ideas i am not sure but you may or maynot be able to patent ideas talk to a lawyer they can help good luck. |

You can gain legal adult authority by petitioning to a court, but it's doubtful any judge would agree to your petition, but it can, and has been done. Think about teen movie stars that get a divorce from their parents. If you earn an income, and you are under age, your parents have a right to a portion of that money. If your legally divorced from your parents, then they loose that right. However by the time you get this through the courts, you are then of legal age and it's a mute point. |
