I once worked for a college recruiting students. The school was closed in the summer but hired people part-time to help prepare the dorms the the fall returning students: cleaning, painting, unpacking books, preparing registration packets. The helpers lived in the dorms for free and were given very little money but it didn't matter because all their expences were covered, even their food. So my point is maybe you don't need as much as you think..
