Now bread is around $3.=, wages around $35.=/hr, cigarets..???... |

Greedy shareholders.
I remember when this was done. I remember the selling off of the utilities under Thatcher. At the time the government was warned that we would face much higher prices due to under investment as the profits were distributed to shareholders and not re-invested.

oil hasnt changed price wise....they call the increase a fear tax its a tax for hey just in case something happens. like the guy in korea that bought up like million dollars in gas bonds then shot a missile out in to the sea so the price would go up and then he sold them for like a billion. the price is controlled by important people who invest in gas then want to sell and rule the universe |

It seems to me they really don't have to justify anything, just like the BBC don't really have to justify the TV license, and BT don't really have to justify their ridiculous line rental charges and stingy broadband packages. I don't like it any more than you do, but what can we do?
I will get rid of my TV, buy solar panels and a windmill, and go back to ntl. Just as soon as I can buy my own house. By then we will all probably be living in domes under the sea!!!! |

Remember, you voted for the Thatcher government who privatised every thing.
At British Gas the directors soon raised their pay 10-fold and there are now thousands of shareholders who expect higher profits every year. Where do you think all that will come from?

Because they have made us too reliant on them. It's our own fault for getting trapped in consumerism, it sounded good to begin with didn't it? but now it's kicking in. That goes for all the other big corporations too. |
