Motivation techniques are becoming methods of control to keep people working like crazy for that promotion that they never get and their jobs start becoming like the casino. The more you work the more they owe you and the less likely that you would leave.

Simple. Become your own boss. It's the only way.
But you have to really have what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and not everybody does. It takes vision, determination, creativity, and a lot of survival instinct to make your own business happen. Your new boss will be a real slavedriver, you will probably work harder than you ever have in your life. You'll be on one heck of a roller coaster, but it will be YOUR rollercoaster. If you've got the guts to be a survivor in the world of entrepreneurship, go for it! |

You should NOT get into the mode of work now and get your incentive later. Always, get a scheme that will settle your dues latest by the month end salary. Or else go for a scheme of ESOP(Employee stock option). This will have some restrictions but at least the stocks are in your name and the money is safe with you. |

Find a new and better employer. There is nothing wrong with doing this.
Remember, you are expected to generate a return on you employers investment. This means that your work must be of more value, to the employer, than his investment in you (your pay).
I can't recall working for a company that required less than a 150% return on investment from me. This means if I'm paid $100 a day, then the employer expects me to porduce $250 worth of work. I expected the same from my employees.
Why should I pay you more money if it is a loss to me? If you are not producing a substantial amount more than I pay, why should I pay you more? |

If I were u, I would set progress standards for myself like ie: ok, say for the next 2 years im gonna try to accomplish this and that. And the ni'll ask for a promotion or a pay raise, something is always better than nothing. If nothing happens then i would say to my boss that other options might be at hang, in a nice way meaning,if you dont show appreciation for me other thing "good job" then im going elsewhere so i can be more appreciated for my work and efforts. |
