I-C-U | How come Target stores shoo away Salvation Army bell ringers from their store entrances and Wal-Mart doesn't? |
|
|

They're reasoning is that if they let Salvation Army stand outside, they have to let everyone stand outside. Kind of odd though, this past Christmas season, they had someone from the newspaper out there everyday selling newspaper subscriptions...also strange is Mervyn's (owned by the same company as Target) allowed Salvation Army to stand outside. The money that is made in the Christmas kettles funds Salvation Army programs throughout the year (Christmas baskets, food boxes, school clothes, afterschool programs, summer camp, etc). When the loss of just one Target store can cause a $8500 loss in donations during the season and there may be two three stores in a given area...it hits pretty hard. Just the loss from one store had the potential to provide 1200 emergency food boxes for needy families. |

because target is cold hearted and cruel |

I know that Target sends hefty donations to these kinds of charities in lieu of the volunteer standing outside. There are actually quite a few stores who do this now. Meijer groceries stores do it, too. |

i dont care most of the time

Cause walmart is good and target isnt |

Boom

So Wal-Mart doesn't have to contribute as much. |

because target has their own fundraising efforts and doesn't want conflicts. |
