How do I get companies interested in my idea that I already have a patent on?
I have a Provisional patent on something related to technology. The thing is i have email a couple of companies but didn't get any reply. I have contacted companies such as Seagate, HitachiGST, IBM, Western Digital, Samsung and Sandisk. So the question is which route should I approach them without sounding crazy.
You do not have a patent. There is no such thing as a Provisional patent. There are only Provisional patent APPLICATIONS. If you don't file a full utility application within one year of filing the provisional application, the provisional application will be come worthless.
I don't think many companies will want to talk to you until you have a full utility patent, or at least a utility application. Only then will it be clear as to what the limits are on your patent. Only then will it be clear that they have to deal with you or not.
