How do I get out of this bank jam?

I over drew my account a lot this month and all the $25 fees added up. I wont have enough money to cover my bills... I jus bought a new car, and I can write the checks, but I will just be overdrafting more and more... my friends bf told me that sometimes banks will over ride the over draft fee...
I just want to know if this is true and likely? has anyone ever done that and what would I possibly say to a teller to have her help me out...
I know Im stupid for getting into this mess but please no mean comments. Thanks

You can overdraft so much then the bank won't cover it. Can you really afford the new car? If you really can't, you need to turn the car back in and get something cheaper. It will look bad on your credit, but it's better than getting it repo'ed.
One other thing - cut out all your unnecessary expenses until you get this situation resolved.

Based upon what you have said, most banks will not override any of the draft fees, especially if they see that you were still using your account when you were already either at a 0 or negative balance. The only time they would really override was if something posted to your account twice in error, or if got paid every other Friday & for some reason, the deposit didn't hit until the following Monday.

Also I have seen banks close peoples accounts down due to having too many return items. You have to make sure you write down every transaction that takes place & with most banks even if you use a debit card, the funds are immediatly taken out of your account, or placed on hold if you use the debit card as a "credit card"

How exactly did you go over your available bank balance? Please don't tell me that it was "How can I be out of money, I still have checks" Also what kind of car did you purchase? If your going over on your bank balance, then it sounds like you might not be able to afford the car.

Ask for a Personal Reserve Account (PRA) on your account it helps out alot when you overdraft on your account, with a PRA you won't get charged the averaged 28.50, whenever you do O/D on your account the bank will waiver the fee, and all you have to do is pay back the amount you owe. PRA is a free service ask about it
