How do I get rid of pesky telemarketers without a real phone number?

they been calling to my house two to tree times a day for the last three years!!! trying to sell me medication and I can't report them because they use fake phone numbers like 123 or 11 they sound like hindu and they hardly speak english I am sick and tired of this. can you help me?

Call your ph. co. and ask to be put on national do not call list and they will give you a no. to call.

tell them it is a business number and it causes backup on the phone line and is a waste of time and they need to stop. worked for me.

If you can get a answering machine that anounces the caller. If it is out of area etc it lets me know. I will not pick up calls that I don't know and some are just computers calling anyway. Panasonic makes a talking answering machine.

put yourself on a no call list or get the telezapper. it will delete your number off their lists. also if the companies call you if youre on the no call list you can sue them

go to donotcall.gov and register your phone # and if they call you you can report them just make sure you respond to the email given to you a few moments after registering

I use to get a lot of called from telemarketers. When I answered the phone and they started to speak I would ask them to hold a moment, then I would put my son (he was 3 at the time) on the phone. I would tell my son that Bob the Builder was on the phone and he would start talking and talking. After doing that for a week every time a telemarketer called, they finally stopped calling and I have been telemarketer free for almost 3 years now.

tell them that you are dead! as having been a telemarketer before, if the person we were trying to get a hold of was deceased we had to put them on a do not EVER call again list ASAP. so say you are your brother or something and say that you have recently passed away. that should stop them

change ur number, the police are no help whatsoever, dont answer them, just put the phone down, they will get fed up with it

Contact your phone company and see what free options they have to take you off certain lists. Also go to www.optoutprescreen.com do everything that there is to do to get off of all the lists that is out there. There is also https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx do research on this as much as you can. There is a way to get off of phone, mail, email call lists. Contact all your debtors. Credit card banks etc. Make sure they all have you as opted out. Sadly when you apply for a loan or something you are automatically put into this telemarketing system you then have to call and opt out after your loan is trough then your number usually isn't removed from those lists for a matter of days to a matter of weeks giving a chance for your number to get out to a ton of people in that time. Do not give your number out for anything anymore. When someone calls and says is this such and such don't say yes. Say WHO IS THIS do this with anyone that you do not recognize their voice because when you say yes this is her or whatever they can take their recordin and make it sound like you said yes to something that you didn't say yes to. I know people this has happened to. Sometimes when places tell me that my call may be monitored or recorded I tell them the same thing. Sometimes I could record sometimes I don't But you have to make that aware in some states so I make it aware and then ask is that alright with you. So then they are a little more cautious to what they say or do. There are catalog companies that sells your info too. Just be careful people gets upset with you when you refuse this info but just let them cause alot of these things like pre approved offers and stuff in the mail in your name goes on your credit report as inquires. I know from experience things you have never heard of gets on there which makes you pay higher interests or could keep you from getting a loan they take 2 years to clear off of your record. You also have to pay higher car insurance due to this stuff. Creditors and the Credit Office stated that non of that was true but when I ran my credit report and all was clean and accurate except all these inquries and then I get denied car insurance due to them I knew it was all factual what I had learned. You have to ask to be taken off of these lists but they don't have to ask you to put you on them how fair is that? Good luck. If you need any more info on this matter feel free to write me. Also when you return something to the store and they have you fill out your info don't put your phone number put NA address if you can get by put just a street name that you live on. Write sloppily. Try to sell them medication to help resolve their problems...
or old rugs (not nice antique ones) just stained old rugs...
or ask them about religion... tell them they are wrong regardless of what they say... Have fun with them.

tell them to get a real job or something. yell and swear. i like the loud noise idea too. lol

Pick up and put loud noise on the phone and they will never call back.
