there are many ways to outsource.
You can outsource to an American company or to a company located in Asia. The question here refers to outsourcing part of the HR-department, I would be surprised if the asker was thinking about outsourcing to another country. I'm not able to help her.
About international trade and outsourcing to other companies. Scholars have proved that international trade makes products cheaper and as such is beneficial for everyone involved. However scholars did make a few "simplification", the first simplification was that transport should be cheap and without no substantial costs. We all know that our governments heavily invest in infrastructure. The second simplification was that the benefits are not evenly distributed among the people, this causes grief and discomfort (to say the least). |

There are tons of companies that outsource. I do not know of any comprehensive site with a list, but you can go to CNN.com and look up Lou Dobbs. He usually keeps a list of outsourcing companies so that he can attack them, but you can use it however you want.
Now onto the other posters saying outsourcing is bad. Do you shop at Wal-Mart, Target, ANY department store, K-Mart, Kohls, etc? Do you like the price of clothes where they are? Did you know the price of blue jeans has actually fallen since the production facilities were outsourced? If you are so anti outsourcing stop buying products made overseas. Enjoy the HUGE increase in prices (you may have to make the clothes yourselves).
Outsourcing is a way for companies to remain competitive in todays global economy. Yes a few jobs may be lost in the process, but the saved money for the company allows the company to hire other people in different jobs.
Oh, and by the way, there is no such thing as a truely American car. Parts for cars are made all over the world. And some Japanese cars are made mostly in the US. You can no longer say you will only buy American, its just not possible. |

I have a better idea not so much an answer but a great idea don't outsource keep it American and if you do outsource i hope that your job is next and you will be standing in the unemployment line with all the people you helped get outsourced. And just remember if you love you cheap crap made in china when nobody has a job because all of our work is in china or india it doesn't matter what it cost. Be American buy American |

"Be American buy American" was a quote from one of the responses. If you enjoy paying high prices for goods do so. Outsourcing is what keeps the COG's low & competitive. Not many products exist in the USA that don't have at least one sub-assembly that is outsourced. Outsourcing reduces production costs by 40-60% thusly providing the end user a lower purchasing cost.
