Tell them that if they don't do their job, they can find a new one.
Wow, I'd be a horrible boss. |

Simply make them part of the company.
Share the benefits or losses with their income.
Make them feel that make a difference to the vision of the company.
Employee owns the company and company dont own the employee |

Positive reinforcement. Rewards. Verbal recognition. Make the workplace seem less like a workplace, and more like a fun place where they work at. Give them surveys on how morale, motivation, and work setting can be improved. Look at how Google is fun. That place is one big funhouse.
Basically, if you treat your customers and employees like royalty, everything else will fall into place. |

Distance yourself from them personally, yet take an active interest in their lives if they offer.
Don't develop favorites or act overly friendly at work, even if you are. It alienates and reduces the productivity of those who will fell like outsiders.
LISTEN, no matter how asinine their questions or comments.
Give them work to do, and make sure there is some sense of accomplish sitting at the end of their tasks. I.e.- don't process paperwork just for the sake of doing paperwork.
If you have bosses at work, write down everything they do that P**ses you off. Make sure you don't do the same to your employees.
Most importantly, work harder than each and every employee you have. Nothin instills respect and motivation than working for someone whom you admire. |

Whips..... or maybe holiday incentives, like a trip away one weekend all expenses paid. I would go for that. You can be my boss?? |

Praise them when they do a good job. Make them feel that they've personally let you down when they don't. |

Systemise everything. Making a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) by pre-agreeing at the beginning of the year of several objectives (may be upto seven) that once they completed they would inarguably receive special bonus at the year end automatically (of course you will need an evaluation of these objectives). Build more security to your employees job. People will work better if they know they have a chance of progress in lives. I know I supervise 33 staff. |

Just get there opinion on how their workplace could be better for them. see what are those factors that don't satisfy. this will show them that you care for them. try to solve some of them if possible |

First find out why they feel they don't have to work. Then get feed back on what they feel would motivate them. They may need some form of structure, or leadership that gets them motivated. They may feel they don't have to work, or don't have agendas or time frames. |
