Having said that - nobody is going to offer you a job, you have to go out and ask for one. You aren't going to get a call asking for you to mow a lawn. You have to walk up to the house and offer your services. If they say no, ask why and negotiate.
It doesn't land in your lap, you have to go out and get it... If they are covered already, offer more for the same money or the same service for less.... do a better job for the dollar the spend.
Its not easy, but if you want some money, it takes work to get it. That's why its called 'EARNING' a living rather than 'getting ' a living.
If its not worth the work to get the money, you aren't worth the money you get.

Do you belong to a church? Sometimes they can hook you up with members who need yard work, or babysitting. If you talk to your neighbors, and introduce yourself, they might be able to give you some work. Most people appreciate a young person who is willing to take the initiative and try to make some money on their own. Just make sure that if you do get a job to do, that you do it well, be on your best behavior, and thank the person for giving you the opportunity. Repeat business is great! |
