This is probably the result of an error by the sales assistant.
You should speak to the manager and if that fails call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or contact the local Trading Standards. |

she must have been new and didn't understand that with a receipt you get full price back. Hope you didn't let her return it! |

If as you say you had the receipt with the original purchase price on - that is what you are entiteld to. Also if the item was faulty you by law are entitled to either an exchange or refund if it is within the stated return period this is usually sated on the receipt. Take it to the Office of Fair Trading. |

They should have only given you an £8 credit note if you didnt have the receipt. With the receipt you are entitled to get the price you paid for it back, especially if it is faulty.
If something doesnt seem right to you, ask for a supervisor to confirm it. |

That is so wrong.
M&S give back the amount shown on the receipt. Why not complain or have they kept the receipt?
You could do some checking with trading Standards. At least ask to speak to the store manager to explain why you should lose £4, better still put it in writing. |

as you had proof of purchase they have to refund the price that you paid. if you did not have the reciept then they only give you the price it is selling at that day keep hold of all the reciepts and go back in and dont leave untill you get the difference may be worthwhile insisting on how to make a formal complaint |

becaus e you let them, if it was proven faulty you legally should get it all, 8 only if you changed mind
of course most people say stuff is faulty because they want the reduced price but surely you wouldnt be that tight over 4 quid lol |

The product was faulty and you had a receipt so legally I think they have to refund the amount you paid. How long ago was it that you bought it? If over a year that may make a difference. And supermarkets always say they are "hassle free" for returns etc... |

You are entitled to a full refund. Not a part refund. If you bought it at full price and had your reciept to prove it, you should have recieved the full refund. Go back and complain! |

because they can, they write their own rules.
plus money is what powers people and makes the world go round (so to speak) people don't want to believe that, they want to believe that everyone is equal but its not try. just look at society |
