"All numbers in thousands" means that's how many thousands they earned. If the number was 1, it would mean they'd earned $1,000.00. If the number was 250, it would mean they'd earned $250,000.00. So the number you quote means that their earnings were $8,031,620,000.00.
That's eight billion plus. |

Well, if that is in thousnads, then I would think it would be 8 billion, 31 million 620 thousand.
If it said : All numbers in thousands, then had "52" you would read it as 52 thousand. |

No, it says "all numbers in thousands." You have to add three zeros to the end.
The number is actually 8,031,620,000 or eight billion, thirty one million, six hundred twenty thousand.
Look at a couple of sources other than Yahoo. Not all institutions present data the same way. |

If the top says "all numbers in thousands" then that means you need to multiply everything by 1000 to get the real number. Financial reports often do this to make the columns narrower so that they can fit more info onto the page.
So the number would be eight billion, thirty-one million, six hundred twenty thousand. |
