1. Leave of Absense
2. enroll or find a clinic where you can dry out. (not a friends house)
3. stop thinking you can solve this by yourself, get a friend or family member to help you do this. YOU DONT HAVE TO SOBER UP TO MAKE THIS DECISION. BUT YOU HAVE TO START NOW.
4. Things will be a lot better if you do. your boss will appreciate it that you finally made the commitment. So will your family. You will have your life back and you will be able to decide what you want.....not the bottle.

You have to snap out of it & get your priorities straight. If its a good job you should not want to risk losing it! If that doesn't work, you should call your healthcare provider & ask them to find you a Chemical Dependency Counselor to speak to. |

You should speak to your boss and say you know you have a problem and you are ready to do something about it.
You must join AA as soon as possible, you can't expect to keep your job if you are drinking so much and not getting help.
Constant drinking is killing you, at the very least it will send you on a downward spiral that ends in the gutter.
Sorry to be so strong, but I feel you know this already and need straight talking to get up and sort yourself out

You have to work out why you are drinking so heavily. Are you trying to block something out? If so, you'll wake up in the morning and the problem will still be there and you'll have the mother of all hangovers to cope with as well. Seeking professional help is really the only way forward. But you must want to stop for you to actually stop. Stop buying the booze, don't have any in the home and that's a start. You can't drink what isn't there. As for your work... If you do have an issue that you are blocking out with alcohol tell them about it. Tell them you want to get help. You may be surprised they may well support you. |
