You have to find a way that they won't know what you are talking about and turn them down, with some excuse that sounds like you did your best to get a yes but couldn't do it for reasons outside of your ability. |

Hopefully there's another alternative to what the client wants to do. Suggest alternatives instead of actually saying "no, your idea stinks." |

Sometimes No is said as just no. I would let them know that they are important and that you value them as client but what they are asking isn't possible. If they are looking for a personal relationship then it shouldn't be no, it should be hell no. It isn't ethical really for a client to expect you to lower your values just because of something that they want and may be against your morals. If I am off base then I am sorry. No is still no. If it becomes to hard to handle then let your manager handle this client or have a different agent handle them. |

Explain why the answer is no before you say no. Say something like "because of ........ I have to say no" and then suggest some alternatives that may work for them. |
