you just come out and tell him/her you are resigning. Thank them for the opportunity, and tell them you think it is time for you to move onto the next chapter of your career. If they ask where you are going, don't get into it too much. Don;t tell them why you are unhappy, etc. Be respectful but firm. The are used to people resigning so don't worry. |

Depends on the time in the position that you currently have and what type of respect that you currently have for your boss.
Will he or she give you a good reference in the future even if you give a 2 week notice?
It in most cases is best to give a 2 week notice and explain that an opportunity has presented itself that you were not able to pass up. You feel that this position will benefit you in the future with your career and it has nothing to do with the current company or him/her.
It is your life and they should want the best for you so although they might be upset. Someone who has your welfare in their best interest will fully understand and help you with the process.
Thanks and good luck.

write a business formal letter giving a 2 week notice then it will be against the law for him to give u a bad review contacted by another company. be honest and tell him its time for you to move on and tell him that you'd be willing to return if it doesn't work out and tell him you are willing to train a replacement |

I've been offered a job with another company. I've always been happy here and wanted to ask if you think there's something equivalent I could be doing here before accepting the offer. I think I've gotten all I can from this experience and need a greater challange. If you don't think there's a place for me here in that capcaity I understand but, I'll need to turn in my two weeks notice. |

Depends on your relationship with your boss. Just remember that you may need to use your boss as a reference or you may need to ask them questions when you need assistance sometime in your future. Your network is very important. When you tell your boss - be EXTREMELY professional. Also, offer to be available for short questions from the rest of the team at your old job.
2 weeks is typically not enough notice in reality so try to offer more notice if possible.
I hope this helps. |

Another company has offered me a position where i can achieve generously great advantage toward my professional and personal goals, and i have decided to partake of that company |

very graciously you thank them for the opportunity to have worked with them and learned from them and give at least the notice required. While many companies ask for 2 weeks, some require notice to equal vacation benefits. |

Leave professionally and on good terms. Give your employer a brief businesslike letter that states you are resigning with two weeks' notice. You do not need to provide a reason in the letter. |

It is always best to try and keep bridges intact and avoid burning them in your wake, even if it was not the best place to work. Two weeks notice with a brief professional letter and be willing to do exit interviews with a positive spin. The best exits make them want you to stay or come back on board at a later date if you so desire. |

"I quit! You can take this job and shove it!" no not really, you should sit down with your boss and let him know that your intersted in another company because the benifits/pay is better. Your boss might try to compete with the other company! |

Just be professional about it. Type of a short, polite resignation letter letting them know when your last day is. Turn it in to your boss letting them know you've decided to move on and that you appreciate everything the company has done for you while you were there. |

"i quit butt head"
the professional way to do it is to write a two week notice.. if you can't work out the two weeks and already have the new job, just walk up to the big boss and tell him the truth.. the reasons you're leaving, where you're headed.. blah blah blah.. and you're set to go! ...or you could just stop showing up. |
