Fedex has it's own commercial airline in such cases that you pay for. It depends on how much money you're willing to spend.

Packages are loaded onto a cargo plane and flown from the east coast to their Memphis hub. The packages are then sorted and loaded onto a second plane, which is flown to the west coast airport. This is a hub-and-spoke method of delivery.
