If ebay comes to you and says"You shipped an item to someone who owes us money...YOU pay us what THEY owed or we'll shut off your business and "freeze" all the money in your account"...Yep,that's extortion...as I said,its 100% documented,along with 26 counts of MAIL FRAUD ! |

I'd really love to understand exactly what you're referring to. If they're gonna steal from you, it would help the rest of us to know what you've experienced, so that we can avoid the same problem.

I don't think it's legal, though...It shouldn't be YOUR problem if somebody else owes Paypal money. In fact, I thought the whole point of Paypal was that it was impossible for funds to be transferred that weren't verified.
Have you called them? I certainly wouldn't give up until the issue was resolved. It might also be worth getting a consumer affairs expert involved. I know there's a guy on our local talk radio station, who often is willing to call the companies on users' behalf. Very frequently, the companies are so keen on not having their name marred on the air, that they'll just take care of it, whether they think they were in the right, or not. |

I had to dispute a charge myself from EBay,courtesy of PayPal.They tried to bill me for "Sellers Fees" though I didn't sell anything.I closed the account the same day. |

A few years back someone stolen my ebay and pay pal identity and sold a Rolex watch using my account and I was to pay ebay for the commissions so I went to pay pal got my identity back and cancel my account took out my credit cards and bank info. I know if I had not done that I would never get my money back from ebay. I finally told ebay to find the guy that bought the watch and you got it solved. Never heard back from them. |

I have been selling on eBay for 8 years, and never had a problem worth discussing. A lot depends on what one is selling also. Electronics come with lots of deception, and overseas temporary businesses waiting to pounce upon unwary victims, with phony or stolen items.
What I sell goes to housewives, teachers, professors, and collectors. Very little nonsense involved. |
