If an employees is not performing well is usually due to duo parties. How much the company put in effort / training to groom the employee and how far can the employee acheive after having such chances to advance.
I have come across companies that "leave you alone" and let you rot to death, no communication or job assignment whatsoever, eventually the employee will know and he/she will resign. This is one way the company can safe on $ vis-a-vis firing someone. |

A good company should give chances,
It's better to motivate a employee that to hire a motivated employee.
A company with much turnover is not a healthy company.
A company was build from a variety of people in general, so with many personality, to team up for synergize.
So try to forgive then forget, if it still perform bad enough, then just give then a red letter by first show them the "sign" |

It depends on the circumstances. If the person is a recent hire, they may not be protected by any rules. If they've been there awhile, completed a probationary period satisfactorily, or are covered by a contract, the company may do a RIF, restructure its job descriptions, or give unsatisfactory work reviews. Basically, they tell the person not to expect promotions or raises. They may offer a severance deal if the person goes quietly. |
