Christopher C | How does ebay work? do they send the things u buy by mail? |

They send by mail, courier, fedex, various ways. Everything I have bought on e-bay has come by mail.
You really should have a Pay Pal account to buy things on e-bay. That is the safest way. The money can either come out of your bank account or be put on a credit card. When you set up your Pay Pal account you can decide how you want it to work.
It is really quite easy, and I have not had a problem with anything, Of course, I am careful about what I buy and careful about how much I bid. It can be easy to get carried away .... it is an auction after all. |

Shipping can typically be arranged with the seller to use almost any carrier -- the buyer pays the freight unless otherwise stated in the auction policy.
There are a variety of ways to pay, including credit card, PayPal, money order, cashier's check -- and sometimes other methods that can be arranged with the seller. |

Look at the fine print on the item you intend to buy. It will say whether you have to pick it up or if it will be shipped to you (to include shipping costs). Also, it will tell you which kinds of payments the seller is willing to accept (credit card, paypal, etc.). Keep in mind, there are usually no warranties on personal items sold on eBay, and you assume some risk by purchasing the item "as is", however, eBay has stood the test of time pretty well and is a pretty reputable online auction. |

eBay is a website where many people can list what they have available to sell. Most of the items are shipped by mail, but they're shipped by the seller and NOT by eBay. eBay as a company does not own or handle the products for sale.
The seller should include in their item listing, the ways that they offer for shipping the item, such as FedEx or USPS. Some items will have "local pickup" as an option and you can usually see where the item is located, like "Florida, USA." Larger and expensive items like cars and furniture are often only available for local pickup.
Sellers on eBay have many different ways you can pay them. These include credit cards, PayPal, personal checks, and money orders. You should probably read eBay's terms on what payment options are safe & unsafe.
Be sure that you know what you are buying, and how you are paying, and how the item can be shipped, BEFORE you place a bid. Once you have bid, you have agreed to pay for the item, so you should always ask questions up-front to be safe. |

I love ebay . . . Most things that you purchase are mailed to you. I think some buyers offer the pick-up option, but I'm not sure how that works. You can pay by check (but sellers wait until your check clears before they mail anything to you), money order or ebay's paying system called "Paypal", through which you can use your credit card and/or bank/checking account. You do have to be careful when starting out buying on ebay, though. If you are considering buying something, check the sellers satisfaction rating -- this is a rating given by other people who have bought from this seller rating their experience with them. Also, check the number of sales that a seller has versus their satisfaction rating. I, personally, never buy anything from anyone with a low sales number. "Power sellers" are usally more reliable because ebay is a business for them -- they aren't just casual sellers.
Beware . . . ebay is ADDICTIVE . . . but alot of fun! |

It should say in the auction description how they will ship your product to you. Some give you a choice of how you want it sent. And the description should also say what forms of payment they accept. Good luck :) |
