I mean think about it, alls they hire for posistions out in the front where customers are is females? I'm not saying they arn't free to its choice. But doesn't that mean they all guys who apply for a server position are rejected due to their sex? Violating the EOA?

They have been sued a few times but finally won because of how their business is set up to cater to a type of clientele. Just as an agency geared toward any segment of the community can choose to hire in a like manner. IE an African American business can decide they will only hire African Americans, or a women's organization can hire only women. |

Hooters has a hiring requirement that you fit in their uniform. Anyone who is over a size 4 cannot wear their clothes. That leaves guys out. And no, that doesn't violate the EOE Act. |

when someone fills out their application to work at hooters, they can either check off for cook or hooters girl. hooters girls are just that. they are girls, and not servers. its like being chosen for a role in a movie. a man cannot sue because he did not get the part of juliet in romeo and juliet. they can also be picky about what the girls look like (like no fat chicks), because they have to be cut out for the role. men and fat chicks tried to sue and they lost. its not about just being a server. |
