Most of the income that Yahoo gets is from selling advertising space. There is also a good amount that they get from selling server space for hosting websites. I use Yahoo hosting (now it is ATT).

All companies have to post a profit to survive.If that doesn't happen by selling a product,it can be by providing a service(yahoo)and providing a paid ad service.For instance,everytime you click on an ad,yahoo profits.

yahoo is an ingenius corporation all your see on their site that is of value to you is of no value to them, it is only to get you on the site so you might click on their ads, leave the web dominance for the corporate titans, dont get brave and start your own site, the corporate elite powers will smother you and divert all consumers from you and to themselves
