Hi, i want to buy something off of the HMV website, i am interested in their current financial situation as I do not want them to suddenly go into administration and me to loose my money.
With zavvi i didnt even know they were going into administration then suddenly i saw it on the news that it was closing down.
Does anybody know, thanks. |

As long as you pay with a credit card you are safe, because if they do go bust, the credit card company has to pay you back.
HMV should be safe because the company also owns Waterstones lol.
So you get all the people who love books,DVD's, music. They appeal to everyone lol. |

Safe at the moment - but like one answerer said... The long term future for music shops seems bad.
My guess is within 5 years there will be NO music stores on the high street.
Who buys CD's nowadays anyway? I havent bought one for 3 years.
I download everything I want straight from my laptop to my MP3 player - and thats gonna happen more and more until theres no need for record shops. |

Zavvi only closed because it got most of its stock from a company owned by Woolworths. HMV is fine |

Don't worry they are very safe they wont be going in to administration anytime soon if they were to i'm sure they would re-fund your money but if you are concerned go in to one of their stores |
