How is this possible. Any real economy without manufacturing?
How is it possible that the entire industrial base of our economy has been dismantled and shipped out? Why did we sit back silently and watch it happen for the past 40 years? The current economic crisis is a direct result of it although almost totally ignored or denied by the media. Without manufacturing the is NO REAL ECONOMY. Duh !!!
1. Profit motive - which is what a business is supposed to do; however the USG has created an anti-business environment.
2. Lower wages (hence the min wage hikes only eliminate US jobs, not create them).
3. Taxes. US businesses pay the 2nd highest tax rates in the world.
4. NAFTA & GATT under Clinton helped accelerate jobs outside the USA to Mexico and Canada, where labor is cheaper, then the US companies can just truck across the border with no taxes or tariffs.
5. The liberal media has only supported the left causes and is blind to simple economics. If they go back 232+ years and look why we left England, it was due to high and unfair taxes. We have left the USA (from a manufacturing standpoint) and are in Mexico and China.

Well Americans like to think they know everything therefore no one can take away from them.
Example: I've heard the remark numerous times on here that the people spoke and the "majority" of the people like Obama. That isn't true we do not go by the popular vote if we had McCain would had won but instead it is the Electoral vote which is not right in my opinion. Putting aside who ever won. But the truth is America got to cocky and decided she could do whatever she wanted because she is so "great and powerful" that nothing can happen to her.
So she shipped out in her arrogance and voted God out of the country. Therefore we are in complete economic collasp and if people think it is bad now just wait the worse is yet to come. And yet they will blame it all on Bush as if one man has the authority and the power to "control" the entire country. Which proves my point exactly.
A complete lack of responsiblity. So techinically America does not own America everyone else does. And we can not pull out due to certain countries such as China who said if we do they will take it as an act of war. We screwed ourselves out of a lack of education and pure aggorance.

Our economy is over and has been declining for decades. We gave it away. Let's all sit back and collect bail outs just like our heros the CEOs who milked their companies dry.

I think that the companies didn't manage themselves well...to have people doing factory work and making $75+ an hour and then continue to make loads of money after retiring. I agree that people should be able to work their way up but hasn't anyone heard of "ceilings?" Wait, many have because the exist in all jobs I've worked (and yes, I have a degree.)
