They have to pay you for the hours you worked and usually any unused vacation pay. Though some companies give
vacation hours quarterly; to keep employees from taking all their vacation time for the year and quitting or quitting and demanding all their vacation pay. |

They have to pay you for any hours you have worked up until you quit. They may have to pay you for unused sick or vacation time depending on the company and the length of time you worked there.
If you quit voluntarily, they can pay you with the next regular payroll cycle. They are not required to get your last check to you faster because you quit.
If you were fired, there are state laws governing how quickly they have to get your final check to you. (This varies from immediately to the next payroll cycle so check your state's requirements.) |

you might get an extension of your benefits for a pay period or until your cobra paperwork comes in, but other than that...
now if you were fired, you could file unemployement. |
