I got over £1000 back from Natwest personally, and helped many people get thousands more back from a range of other banks.
Its very unlikely that banks would close your account now, they stopped that practice a while ago, unless you claimed back charges from more than 1 account at the same bank.
However, if you are thinking of claiming, whilst you still can claim, all claims are currently on hold, for at least the next year. This is because the OFT are taking the banks to the high court to decide one and for all if bank charges are unlawful. The case starts next january and is expected to run for a year. In the meantime all claims are on hold.
If the OFT win, then it will be quicker and easier for everyone to get their charges back, if the banks win it will be the end of bank charge claims.

Yep I've had charges refunded. I'm not going to go into detail but it was clear they were wrong, we talked it through, and the charges were refunded immediately. |
