Bone up on your current events - especially if they impact your business. This will do two things for you. One you will learn something that could help you in your job and two you will impress the boss with your knowledge of the world and it's impact on work. I would also throw in some general trivial information a couple of days a week for added humor so you don't appear to be a brown noser. |

I would say "I'm planning a nice vacation next year. Where do you recommend?"
Your CEO may have had a pleasant experience somewhere and this'll bring back fond memories. Wherever he says, thank him then research it. Talk about it again in the near future. Management likes to notice people who know how to plan for different things down the road, and can research as well. Not everyone can do that. Who knows? Maybe a promotion is soon to be yours. Just keep a positive attitude in everything you do. |

Avoid religion, politics and any current events that people feel strongly about (immigration reform, war, etc). I used to get a lot of mileage out of telling my bosses the latest stupid things my dogs did, or how my neighbor's toddler was learning to talk and loved to yell "naked!!" at the top of his lungs. Something amusing but mostly fluff. |

Since it seems to bother you when you are asked the questions first you can plan all you want and you will forget how you were going to answer this person, this is a person none the less he has to put his pants on one leg at a time just as you do and if he is making you that nervous then just beat him to the punch and ask him first so that you have the lead question and let me give the frist answer. once you start talking to this person more you will be more comfortable when you see him and maybe relax alittle instead of being so up tight ,you can tell when some feels that they have a fear that you are going to speak to them and they are afriad you will want an answer. you need to feel more possitive about your self and learn to believe in you and not worry so much about what someone else is thinking about you |
