How to deal with a jerk at work?
I work at a hotel and our night auditor has been workin for about 50 days straight. But even before that he was an asshole. for instance my son go pnemonia and i was in the hospital all night and day and he started talking **** about me calling out sick to be with my son. well now he doesn't like the way I put the money in the safe (change all in back) so now he has been putting the money in all messed up and started a pole at the front desk on how we like our money in safe his way or my way. I've been here 3 years and him about1 1/2 he thinks he's god and everything needs to be his way. Am I wrong for being a ***** and not doing it his way.

Feeling Mutual
Life is like being on a ladder, only one person can be at a rung at a time. In his world, there is no such force as push, only pull. One pulls someone up the ladder or down the ladder.

In order to pull someone up the ladder, you have to be above them.

In order to pull someone down the ladder, you have to be below them.

He is below you, and trying bring you down to his level by pulling you down.

You have 3 options.

1. You can stay above him and try to pull him up higher.

2. You can let yourself be pulled down to his level.

3. You can get below him and try to pull him down even lower.

I recommend option number 1.

If this guy is your supervisor or in a manglement position, you would be best off doing things his way until the higher ups see what he is and can him.
If he is just another salary-slave like you, talk to your super or HR about it..be nice DO NOT be confrontational, just explain in calm words what he is doing and let them decide.
Here on Y!A is the place to vent (if you want to keep your job)

edit: I'm guessing from his poll about the safe that he is not a manager of any kind, but still be calm and nice when you explain, in great detail, about his actions. Again, vent HERE, not at work.

Tracy,
Have a sit down with him and be real about yourself.
Explain to him that you enjoy your job but that family
is a non negotiable necessity...as far as the safe is
concerned let's look at it this way..if somebody was
to attempt to rob the place you don't want to waste
time fishing through change...you want that nut to
get and go before he hurts somebody (not to mention
the more money he gets the more time her serves)
so keep the bills up front....there you have it

I have a drastic but simple solution for you. Sneak up behind him with a baseball bat. Hit him behind the knees with the bat. This will drop him to his hands and knees. Then you take one more swing at his head. End of problem.

Little Mac
Grab him by the shirt and push his back against the wall. Get in his face and say "I'm tired of your ****, you either cut it out or I'm going to make you wish you were never born". If he talks back, put him in his place and punch him. He was making fun of your son, you must defend the family honor. Nothing puts people in their place like an ol' *** whoopin.

Well first if your a girl tell him to stop and then you can kick him in the balls!! then you can tell him to f**k off and stop being a jerk.
