Simple, you give your full details as you would do when writing any letter, and then state that you wish to resign from whatever it is Job, Club, etc. for whatever reason. Then say that you have enjoyed your time there, and wish the company, club, etc. every success in the future. One important thing, check your spelling before sending it. |

I kept mine simple for my last job... I told my managers that this job wasn't exactly what I am looking for at this point in my life, and that it's time for me to move on to more fruitful work that complements my personality/ideas more. I thanked my managers for the opportunity, mentioned the great skills and assets I learned, and told them I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. Very nice. |

I have to agree with the person who said keep it simple, in that you don't go into detail as to why...keep it very generic. Also, you want to leave on a 'positive' note, like mentioned before, saying you enjoyed the opportunity, be thankful, moving on to something better matching what you have to offer, etc. This way, you are not 'downing' the company or the managers in the event your company offers letters of recommendation or accepts calls from other companies who really do check references. Personally, depending on the circumstances, I might go into a little bit of detail as to why I was leaving, but I would ensure I was not bashing anyone for the above mentioned reason...references. Most important, use spell check...wright should be spelled write ;) Good luck. |

third, Title of Letter .... Resignation of Appointment
forth, body of letter,... here you have to be polite and tactful, say you appreciated the period you worked with them and that you have learnt alot from them even when it is not true and you don't have to tell them the exact reason why you want to leave especially when you are not happy with them, you never can tell you might need them again. e.g, you can say you want to further your education or your doctor says you need to rest for a long period of time.
fifth, the final greeting....Yours faithfully,
sixth, your signature. then you hand it over to the appropriate personnel and if he tries to talk to you about it give him audience but don't let him change your mind and then after that you zoom off and don't let them contact you for at-least six months or less you need them first, so that when they see you the next time you have a difference to show...... beat it. |
