How would you explain a 1 year gap of employment? Can you hear me out?
I applied for a retail store.
I worked at another retail store last year but i quit after working there for a few months.
If i do get a call back for any reason. i know they would ask me why was there a gap in my employment. i really dont know a good answer becasue i didnt work for nearly a year.
Say that you were traveling or visiting family in another state/country or that you were taking some classes at the University. Most retail stores are not going to care that much about what you were doing.

tell them you where taking care of a relative that relative paid your needs, its private, a family affair. I'm available and feel I have grown in the past year from a humanitarian point of view. you enjoy life more, you respect getting thing done, lay it on thick use it to your benefit. ask a relative to write you a nice letter to back you up....you know the important thing is you get hired and then you prove they made the right decision....
