First of all, dont ever ask your team to do something that you yourself have not done, or something that you wouldn't do right beside them. Be equal to everyone, don't pick favorites. Live by the philosphy 'work hard, play hard'. It sounds to me that just by asking this question, you would be great to work for. It seems you have compassion and want to make the work place better for everyone. I think you're probably doing just fine. If you're getting these feelings about your boss, why don't you arrange a meeting with them and ask them, or wait til your next evaluation. They will tell you what they expect from you and if you're working up to their standards. |

Talk to your bosses and find out what would make them appreciate you more. Then do it -- and don't worry about getting along with the staff. |
